If you’ve spent any time with us so far, you probably know that nostalgia plays a big role in everything we do. This week, that feeling hit especially hard.
We recently picked up Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 for the Switch, and jumping back into those games immediately sent us down memory lane. As polished and beautiful as the Galaxy games are, they reminded us where that magic really started for us. Floating platforms, secret exits, and that unmistakable Mario charm that defined our childhoods. That’s exactly why we chose Super Mario World for the SNES as this week’s game spotlight.
Released in the early days of the Super Nintendo, Super Mario World is still one of the greatest platformers ever made. From the first moment you step into Dinosaur Land, everything just feels right. The controls are tight, the levels are packed with secrets, and discovering hidden paths and Star World for the first time is a core gaming memory we’ll never forget. Add Yoshi into the mix, and it became something truly special. This is the kind of cartridge that never really leaves a collection, it just waits patiently to be played again.
It’s games like Super Mario World that remind us why we fell in love with gaming in the first place. No updates, no downloads, no distractions. Just you, a controller, and a world designed to be explored over and over again.
On a quick shop update note you might have noticed we’re currently sold out of Pokémon cards. We want to apologize for the lack of card stock right now. The demand has been huge, and we’re actively working on acquiring more booster packs and bundles as quickly as we can. Pokémon is a huge part of our shop and our personal collections, so rest assured, more is on the way.
As always, thank you for being here, whether you’re browsing, collecting, or just sharing the nostalgia with us. We’ll be back next week with another spotlight, another story, and more pieces of gaming history we’re excited to share.
